oral and gentia hsv 1 and acyclovir

Hi,

I contracted oral and genital hsv 1 18 months ago.  I started on suppressive meds right away.  Over time i started getting side effects (or so i think) - they include: tingling fingers, burning arms, tingling toes, tingling ankle, tingling knees, tingling arms and tingling scalp.  Also, a weird nerve problem in my palm - the palm gets sensitive and 'comes alive' with movement (can last a few days).  I stopped taking the acyclovir approx 3 months ago.  The palm sensitivity stopped after about 6 weeks, the constant finger tingles are less often and less severe, scalp tingles also less often and less severe.  But, I still seem to have constant tingles in my toes/ankles.

Do you think this is a side effect of the acyclovir?

Do you think this is a side effect of herpes?

Could it be permanent?

Any advice/answers will help.  Thanks in advance.

you need to go and see a neurologist. herpes doesn't cause this. acyclovir side effects would've stopped within a week or two after stopping the acyclovir.  whatever is going on, isn't likely to be related to herpes or acyclovir.
