was your lesion culture just + for herpes or was it specifically positive for hsv1 or hsv2? If you weren't told which type it is, you will need to pursue additional testing.
I recommend that all involved from this encounter get type specific herpes igg blood tests done. since condoms weren't used, be sure to follow up with proper testing - gonorrhea at any point after 1 week post encounter, syphilis anytime after 6 weeks. herpes and hiv after 3 months ( your friend should get herpes testing now and then repeat her blood test in a few months if she was negative on her initial test ).
as for your oral symptoms, at this point impossible to know what caused them since you can't get a lesion culture. You covered treatment for chlamydia so if that was the cause you don't have to worry. Should your symptoms orally reoccur, be seen promptly for an exam and ask for herpes testing on them. could you have contracted herpes both orally and genitally? Indeed you could've but without the lesion culture being done when you had active symptoms, no way to figure that out.

Herpes outbreaks can occur anywhere between 2 - 20 days, on average.
So if your symptoms recently occurred 1 - 2 weeks, your friend may have it as well. Hell, I would say it is highly likely that she has it, but just hasn't had an outbreak yet.
If your friend doesn't get symptoms at all, she should definitely do a IgG Blood test for HSV-2 at 3 months. Doing a IgG blood test at 4-6 weeks is a good indicator, but 3 months would be definitive.
The swelling in your throat could be a lot of things. Contacting HSV-2 orally is possible, but isn't common. I would go to the doctor and ask them to take a swab of your throat or just a look at it.
