oral herpes

I have type 1 oral herpes and my partner has type 2 gential herpes, can I give him type 1 from kissing and oral sex. Can he give me type 2 from oral sex. We have been together for 10 years and we haven't spread the disease to each other yet but we are concerned that we could. I have never had an outbreak and only got tested because my partner had an putbreak and got tested and was positive for type 2. My doctor said that I could be a carrier since I never had an outbreak. I don't want my relationship to change, but I know that we need to be careful. My partner is worried that I could give him type 1 be kissing him. Is this true?

If you have HSV2 then you can't get HSV1 in the same area...

So if he has Genital HSV2 then there is no way he can get Genital HSV1..  However he can still get Oral HSV1 while having Genital HSV2 however his HSV2 antibodies will make it harder to get but is still possable.

If you have Oral HSV1 you can still get Genital HSV2 and also you can get Oral HSV2.

HSV1 can become HSV2 through exposure but HSV2 can not become HSV1.

His HSV-2 gives him a very high protection against HSV-1, Ive read near impossible. BUT you can still get HSV-2 despite you having HSV-1.
