oral hsv question

Terri,

I have a similar story, but would you change your diagnosis if the encounter was sharing a straw with the stripper?

I posted a question in STD forum but should've posted here.  I'm at day 5.5 but have been dealing with swollen glands and an agitated sore throat from 24 hrs after the encounter til now. Tested neg for hsv 1&2 in early March. No blisters yet but I feel like in in the "waiting period" for them. Does this sound bad to you? Also had a metallic taste in my mouth and minor fever. Do these symptoms precede blisters or occur simultaneously?  If precede, by how many days? Finally, I got a prescription for acyclovir. Should I start taking it now to lessen the viral load? I heard a conflicting thing that I should let it run its course naturally so I build up more antibodies to it and it attacks it faster next time.

Thanks.
