oral sex and herpes

OK so 9 days ago I recieved oral sex from some one that I know for sure has had a history with cold sores. At the time of the encounter there were no sores present. I've been doing some reading and I do know that is is possible but not common. Since the encounter I have had some vaginal itching and mild burning. I dont have any sores or cuts or anything like that. I want to know what my odds are of having contracting herpes from this encounter. Also how do I know if the person has HSV 1 or HSV 2 that causes their cold sores?

I know it's hard not to worry but at this point it doesn't sound like herpes. be seen monday for the testing for vaginitis so you can stop worrying :)

Thank you so much for your answers! I really appreciate your time and patience. I know it may seem like im obsessing but I just have some other questions. 1. Being that I've been feeling the itching and burning for about 9 days would that mean that I would have had a sore pop up already? or can symptoms take a long time be for a sore appears?
2.How common is getting herpes from oral sex?
3.what is tingeling feeling that I read about? I some times feel a weird feeling in my clit could that be an outbreak about to happen?
sorry for all the questions but this has me really on edge and I cant sleep or eat. I feel like im going insane!

if you contracted hsv1 genitally, you'd have symptoms within 2-20 days after the encounter.

usually if you contract hsv1 genitally, it's pretty "classic" and presents with a lot of pain and obvious lesions. If you still have itching and burning monday, be seen and get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally. odds are it's vaginitis and not genital herpes going on.

have you ever been tested for herpes to know your own status? 1 out of every 2-3 adults in the US has hsv1 orally but most of them never get obvious cold sores to know that they are infected so it's worth periodic testing to know what your status is.

almost everyone who gets cold sores has hsv1 orally. You can have hsv2 orally but not a large percentage of people have it orally to begin with and those who do, typically do not get many recurrences in their lifetime.
