poissible infection: veeery worried

Hy:

Sorry about my english but i am not American, so I will do my best.

9 days ago I had protected intercourse with a girl. The thing is that as sonn as a saw her we started with the kissing. Then we had sex, and she gave me unprotected oral sex. At the end, when we went to the bathroom and I went to take a shower, I realized with the bright lightning of the bathroom, that she had some lesions near her down lip, not on her lip. The lesions looked like a big red pimple. There was no scar or blood present, I think. Of course I got freaked out and I asked her what was that and she told me that she didn’t know. She said that se even tried to pop it but nothing happened. While she was giving me the explanation she touched this thing and told me that it didn’t hurt.

I am very afraid that we are talking here about a sore cold. If that is the case I suppose that obviously I got infected. I don’t have any symptoms yet. I am very worried about my mouth and my penis. I am worried that I could also get genital herpes. So I called a very close friend of mine that is a gynecologist and explained everything to him. He told me that I shouldn’t worry. That is is would be difficult for me to get infected because it affects mostly inmunodepressed people. He told me to take 1 pill of Aciclovir for 15 days and forget about the situation.

Doc:

1.- Do you think I was at great risk?

2.-Could it be another thing different of herpes what she had? (because she said it was not hurting her at all and it looked like to big pimples grown very closely)

3.- what should I do? I am very afraid. I don’t want to have genital herpes, neither sore cold, but the genital herpes is my mayor concern.

Thank you in advance Sr.

Rodolfo.

1 pill of acyclovir daily for 15 days isn't going to do anything. it doesn't prevent infection and if you did get infected, it isn't the proper dose to even prevent you from having obvious cold sores/genital lesions.

the rates of hsv1 infection in mexico are high. Odds are you already have it yourself even if you can't recall ever having had an obvious cold sore. That said, this didn't sound like a cold sore she had anyways.

unless you get any obvious oral or genital symptoms, no need for any follow up.
