positive test

Hi,

I just got back from my doctor.
I had sex with a csw 6 weeks before the blood test, and the condom broke in the end.

I think the doctor did a igg igm test and he said that it was an old infection.
Apparently, it is not possible to do a differentiating test regarding the different types here.

I have had no visible lesions or anything.
Is there a high probability this is in fact an old  and a type 1 infection?
I am scared that it is a type 2 infection from the csw encounter after all :(

zoster testing is chicken pox/shingles.  you'll need to repeat your testing with the proper herpes igg blood testing to have better answers.

Hi, I finally got the results:
It says:

Herpes Zoster IgG: Negative Titer Positive (1.57)
Herpes Zoster IgG: Negative        Negative

Does this mean no Herpes Type I/II testing was done?

I have High levels in Lymphocytes, bilirubin, creatine kinase and urea. Low levels in vitamine D. Where can I find someone to help me interpret these results? Doc has not mentioned any abnormalities...

thanks!

Hi,

Unfortunately, I do not have the results. In a month, I have another meeting with the doctor, and I will ask for a copy of the results. Until then, it is just stressing :/ Is it possible to supply me with some answers on my questions? This would help me putting things in perspective..

I really appreciate what you are doing btw:)

I can best help you if you get the actual test results to post here - e.g. hsv1 igg 3.8 and hsv2 igg 4.3.  thanks!

Some more specific questions:

1) what is the chance that the IgM IgG test is correct in showing in showing and OLD infection? I.e. What is the chance a new infection is shown as an old one. (IgM -  and IgG+) I know IgM is not reliable, but I just want to know

2) how long does IgM stay in the blood when it is there (typically)? I find answers ranging between 3 months and 3 weeks...

3) how long for IgG to appear typically?

4) what is the percentage of people who are asymptomatic for type 2? I seem to find a lot of different info

5) is it possible for foreigners to test in the USA?

I hope you can help me, because as I said, here there is no type distinguishing test...

thanks.
