possible herpes w/no sores

I had unprotected intercourse with a girl I know 45 days ago.Take in mind a week after the sex i heard from a mutual friend that she saw valtrex in her medicine cabinet! I called her and asked if she had genital herpes and she swore up and down she didnt.Two weeks after the incident i got sick with just body aches,headache,and the chills.My question is when i was sick could that have been the  initial outbreak and i just never developed sores or lesions?Everything else in my penis region is in tip top shape ...no burning,sores,or redness as i am very intune with my body and notice every lil thing.Can i stop giving my penis the hourly sore inspection?

it's more likely you had something else going on and not herpes without obvious lesions.

NEVER inspect your penis hourly!!!  

Up to you if you want to follow up with proper std testing at the proper times since it was unprotected sex. You can get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter, syphilis anytime after 6 weeks and herpes and hiv anytime after 3 months.
