primary infection again?

hi
so back a few months ago i had what looked like an outbreak, but i've had multiple igg tests that have come back negative. I read online that in less than 1% of people, antibodies may not develop until even 6 months after exposure. Assuming i'm in that catagory, which my doctor says seems likely, will i have what was like my primary outbreak over again even though it is a recurrance because i havent developed the antibodies yet? I had fever, chills, headache, and sores with my first outbreak and i've having those same symptoms now, minus the sores.

odds are if you have a fever with a recurrence then it's because you have something else going on that triggered you to have a herpes recurrence on top of whatever it is.

the recurrence dose is what you would take. don't treat fo rherpes though until you've had a + diagnosis. you testing negative and your provider just thinking you probably have it anyways isn't near good enough so you want to be seen for a lesion culture to confirm it to help rule out if indeed you do have herpes or not.

ask your provider to order up a herpes WB blood test for you if they are doubting the blood testing you've had so far.

also, my last breakout was in december --- does that mean i'm likely to only get them every six months? or 2/3 times a year?

if i get sores accompanied by a fever though, what does that mean? why would i be having those same symptoms that i had with my primary outbreak?

and if it is a recurrence and i am still having all the symptoms i had with the primary outbreak, should i take the dosage of valtrex that they recommend for the primary outbreak, or the recurrence?

should you get obvious lesions, be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture and typing.

if indeed this is herpes, your body has developed antibodies against it, just the tests we use only look at a small part of the igg response to herpes infection. so in other words, if you are one of the small percentage who has herpes but isn't testing accurately on the blood tests we currently offer, recurrences will still be recurrences and not be accompanied by fevers etc. make more sense?
