question about hsv1 genital recurrences

here is my background story:

about 4 months ago i had what i thought was a cold sore, so i went to the clinic, and was diagnosed with herpes type 1 oral. i was put on acyclovir, and a day or two later i noticed a very small bump on my outer labia that was painful to the touch. i went to a planned parenthood to get a test done, and i was told that i was positive for having type 1 genitally also. the sore on my face got worse and healed after about 10 days, while the genital one never blistered or got any worse and went away after 3-4 days.

anyway here is my problem.  about a week ago i noticed a small bump on my butt (near my inner thigh) on the same side as the initial hsv1 infection. i scratched it a bit, thinking it was a pimple, but it started to hurt like the other herpes sore.  over the past week, every day it seems like more bumps have kept developing around the area. so far there are about 7 in total, in different stages of "healing," however from the ones i can see they don't seem to be blistering or anything. they are just painful.

i am confused because i always thought that if i were to get another genital hsv1 outbreak, it would be less severe, not worse severe than the first one. over the past week (after the first bump appeared) i have also developed a fever (which most likely i caught from kissing my sick boyfriend) and i have been under a massive amount of stress, but i am confused because i am wondering why i got a genital outbreak instead of an oral outbreak.

i went to the doctor and had a blood test done to make sure i don't have type 2 genital, but my question is, is it possible for someone who has hsv1 orally and genitally to have more genital outbreaks than oral outbreaks?

It's not uncommon to get a recurrence within a few months  of  being infected - even with hsv1 genitally.  I encourage you to go se eyour provider monday and get looked at an dget more medication.  You should also be tested for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections while you are there since both are pretty common and can trigger recurrences and might be why this ob seems more extensive than the 1st one was genitally too.

ok sorry if that wasn't clear, i'll explain again... 4 months ago i was diagnosed with hsv1 at a walk-in clinic because i had a cold sore on my face. then i noticed (a day or two later) that there was a bump on my vaginal area. it was so small that i don't know whether or not it was there when the bump on my face first appeared or if it happened after the fact and was only as small as it was because it appeared after i had already started taking acyclovir. i suggested the possibility of autoinoculation to the planned parenthood people but they insisted that that is very rare and i probably got it in both spots from my boyfriend through kissing/oral sex. they gave me the same reason; that when initially infected, there is a window in which you can acquire the same virus in both spots. i was very sexually active when this all happened, but all i remember of that time is panic and not my exact sexual history, so i guess i'll never really know for 100% certain how it spread, the bottom line is i am positive for hsv1 in both places (the facial one diagnosed from sight, the genital one diagnosed from a swab test).

i just found it odd that right now i am experiencing a genital outbreak, not a facial outbreak, that is "worse" than my initial one. so in light of that and my previous post, what i was trying to ask is if it is possible for someone in my position to have more genital outbreaks than oral ones?

How were you disgnosed the first time with HSV1? It is possible to have both genital and oral herpes which happens when you are first infected with the virus either of the 2 spots then autoinoculating it into the other area. I am not sure what you got going on there but I am real curious how you were diagnosed with Herpes the first time and want to know what the current blood test is.

edit: i am still waiting on blood test results, but would appreciate any answer you could give me from your experience. also, right now i am on amoxicillin for my fever. will that make the outbreak worse or result in more outbreaks?
