questioning results

I had an IGG test result of HSV1 of 2.23 and HSV2 of 0.99.
My spouse has cold sores, I have never had one. Is the HSV2 negative?

typically in children the first ob is a humdinger like this and then if there are recurrences they are just typical cold sores.  probably your child being sick in general is why he's getting a diaper rash. no reason to think herpes as a cause for that.

Hubby will need full testing. you have your doubts, listen to that little voice dear.

Oh, and will the baby always or again have these ulcers in his mouth or will it be just cold sores?? Will it spread to other areas? His tongue has places all over it, he has a smal round ulcer in roof of his mouth, and his gums are awful!

What about that place on my tongue? Does that sound like anything to you? Anything I should be concerned about?
What about the "scrape" on his penis from the supposed zipper catching his skin? Does that sound like anything??
Hubby has never had a STD screening to my knowedge.
He has been acting strangly latey; accusing me of stuff; he is probably the one doing something.

Visual diagnosis for the baby. What about the bump on his bottom? Should I be concerned about that?  Does this mean that the baby wil get cold sores later too?

herpetic gingivostomatitis is hsv1 orally. herpangina isn't hsv1.  Did they do any actual testing or just a visual diagnosis ( which is usually all they do )?

I'd wait and repeat your hsv2 igg at a later point along with a full std panel if you didn't already have one just to err on the side of caution. Also if hubby hasn't had a full std panel done yet, insist he get one and share his results with you so that you know that he's had proper testing done and covered all his bases. It's the least he can do at this point I think.

First hubby had multiple girlfriends that I later found out about. I think this one may have had one too.
I have a two year old that has been diagnosed with herpetic gingivostomatitis. The pediatrician said it was NOT cold sores but everything I have read says otherwise. AND I have had a very stressful time the last two months...divorcing again..and I got a "lie bump" on my tongue in December, about a month ago I guess, and then it was two lie bumps right together. I kept scraping it against my teeth and it got worse. Then it almost looked like a cut on my tongue. It got white and gross looking and was so sore. Then my soon to be ex said "That looks like HERPES b/c I have seen pictures!" Then it wasn't a couple of days later i noticed a scab or something on his penis and he said that happened when he was driving in his truck one day and had to pee really bad and didn't know where to go so he peed in an empty water bottle and when he was zipping up his pants his skin got caught in the zipper and it blead and that is what caused the sore place. Sounds fishy to me! Now I am terribly worried about the baby. Is that herpes??? He has several "cold sore" looking places around his mouth, red, swollen and bleeding gums and ulcers in mouth and on tongue. Today I found a red pimple looking bump on his little bottom.

yes your hsv2 igg is negative.

Your spouse has hsv1 orally so no real reason to doubt your own hsv1 status. Most folks who have hsv1 orally, don't get obvious cold sores to know it.  Thank mom and dad for the good gene's :)

what led to your testing?
