i tested positive for hsv1 and hsv2.test came back in a few days and was done by labcorp.I have never to this day recall ever showing signs of this ever.I decided to get tested again and asked to be tested through a different lab quest.again test came back positive within 3 days.I am seeing that the westernblot test is the most accurate is that so??i also finally found true love and this is a huge dissapointment to me as i never want to give it to my partnerThis is very depressing as well as the stigma that goes with it.I want to know is it possible to have been exposed to it and not be a carrier?i work in the medical field and one of my patients has herpes.Apparently i dont show any signs of it ,and anyone i been with hasnt either ,which of course i let them know.I would think at some point if i had it i would of gave it to someone who would show signs.Of course i was never a careless person when i was with someone nor did i sleep around.I dont know what type of test i had the first time through labcorp but i think through quest it was type specific.I also learned that mono is part of the herpes virus which i knew i had many many yrs ago .is it possible to come up positive for herpes cause i had mono and that is part of the herpes virus?.And what does the western blot actually determine.please help.my partner is very afraid of catching it now and could be the end of my relationship.thanks
