red dots on pubic.. herpes?

i had a few sex partners in the past 6 months (used protection every time). i would develop red spots around my pubic area on the skin. The red dots would be small and look like they had a white spot in the middle of it, but when tried to pop or scrap it off it would just bleed. These spots would only come one or two at a time. No pain or itching at all, unless i would try to popped it really hard and there might be a tiny amount of pain due to self infliction. I do shave around the shaft of my penis with a razor but trim the main pubic part with a buzzer pretty short. I notice a new red spot or dot about once a month and they go away about 4-6 days later. They never come in bunches, they look like pimples but they don't have puss.. i just a little scared, at first just thought it was form shaving but now worried because i will get them regular. Does this sound like herpes, i have a docs appointment next week but i just wanted to get an input and be prepared.. thank you for your time

going to be seen is the best thing you can do.  sounds more like folliculitis than herpes.
