red itchy bumps around vagina

red itchy bumps around vagina

iv been having these red itchy bumps around my vagina. theyre very small, but itchy. i noticed if i scratch it it gets worse. after a week or so it usually disappears but then every once in a while comes back again. i noticed on maybe one or tow of the small bumps it looked liked raw skin but im not sure if thats was due to over scratching? iv only had sex with one person and that is my husband. although in my past i had sexual contact with other persons but never intercourse. Im so scared its some type of std, and i dread going to the doctors because if i did find out that it was an std...i dont know what i would tell my spouse?? is there anything else this may be besides an std? please HELP! im so scared!

Not sure on nouwi's response.

However, bumps can be anything truly.  Being fearful of going to the doctor won't help give you an answer.  I can tell you it could be anything but I can't see the bumps nor am I qualified to tell you what you have.  For that you need to see a doctor.

Could it be HSV?  Sure it could be.  But if its genital and it is HSV-1 chances are your husband has HSV-1 orally and you got it from getting oral from him.

The best thing in this case is be seen by your doctor.  Get a type specfic IgG blood test and have your partner do it as well.  If he has ever had a cold sore or fever blister in his life he has HSV (mainly HSV-1).  Majority of us as a adults have it and or will get it by retirement.  So get the blood test and if you get these bumps be seen by your doctor within 24-48 hours after they show up for a lesision culture.
