redness around lips

hello, 3 days ago i had a sexual encounter with a person i didn't know. We had only kissed, and she performed oral on me. Next day when i woke up in the mourning i noticed that a part of my lip was reder. so i started to use chapstick and it seemes to have vanished. After constantly using chapstick for 3 days i am now noticing a dark red layer forming around my lower lip which feels irritating and a litle burning. since i have been using chapstick for the past 3 days i dont think that it could be that my lip is chaped. Could it be that i am gettig oral herpes?
Please let me know

I went out with my friend from work and we ended up kissing, the next day I noticed a small red blotch on my lip and thought that it may have been a cold sore so I freaked out and took acyclovir, it went away and ive been using chapstick alot because my lips have been dry, i woke up this morning with red spots all over my lips, i went to the hospital and they said they dont know what it is, idk what to do, it doesnt hurt, itch, like a regular cold sore, ive had them before..i was worried it was oral herpes...i dont have any sores inside my mouth or on my tongue???

LOL!  I *heart* slacker. :o)

First of all, you don't even know if you've already been exposed to oral herpes. The likelihood is that you have been. This wasn't a herpes infection anyway.

If you are this uncomfortable after just kissing somebody, you are going to have a hard time dating in the future. I suggest counseling to work with this kind of anxiety. Otherwise, you don't have a prayer of having a normal sex life in the future. Bummer.

opps, my bad. I was thinking you were talking about the Vaginal Lips.. haha. The same is true about the lips lips to that nothing is going to show up the next day... :)

not a chance.. Herpes doesn't show up the next day. The redness was probably irritation and the darker red was probably from the chapstick. Did you read lips on the chapstick container and figured it was good for ALL lips? haha
