reinfection

I anm currently near the end of primary herpes (probably 2) infection and am still having trouble passing urine.  I had a foley catheter for 4 days a week ago and have been squeezing out small amounts of urine since but not enough to keep up with urine in bladder.  At what point does this become too dangerous and isn't this a long time to remailn backed up?

Also, now that the primary infection seems to be wrapping up (it has been 3 horrific weeks- with every symptom ) how long til I develop a full immune response? plus , once I do can I get outbr4eaks in other areas in the future ie. throat from oral sex with same partner I contracted the disease from? That's the one place I was not affected this time.  My immune system isn't great due to constant stress due to food and airborne allergies, so I catch every cold but am not immune suppressed in the way transplant recipients or HIV patients may be.  How likely am I to keep getting breakouts on new areas?  I guess the question is whether any kind of conatact with virus making areas on myself or my partner will ever be possible again without creating more?

If you still can't pass your urine easily, you need to go back and be seen. They can do a bladder scan if they have one in the office ( hand held ultrasound machine that measures how much urine is in your bladder ) and see how much urine is in your bladder after you try to urinate or they can just catheterize you again and see how much comes out.  You might even need to get the foley catheter back in again too :(  Better to keep the bladder empty than to have urine backing up and causing issues and infections though!

Feeling like you catch every cold going around isn't the same as your immune system being reduced. It's more likely that you didn't catch enough of those germs as a child and now you are making up for it :(   Wash your hands often and try to avoid sick people at work and don't hesitate to tell someone who's coughing and snotting all over the place at work that they should be at home, not at work!!!    It's not likely that you will contract hsv2 from your partner on other body parts. Ob's anywhere in the boxer shorts area are completely normal. Though most folks have ob's in their "usual spot", many folks have them in multiple places over time. It's not the virus spreading to new areas, it's it reactivating and taking different individual nerves to get to the skin.  You aren't likely to contract it orally either from performing oral sex on your partner. Never perform oral on active genital symptoms - normal mouth flora isn't normal in open genital lesions but otherwise you have enough protection that it's not likely you'll get it anywhere else now at this point.

Hang in there - it's rough when you get a humdinger of an ob like this :(    are you still taking herpes antivirals? If so what  and how much?
