same sex partner for 3 yrs... herpes?

i haven't had sex w/ anyone in 3 years except my boyfriend and we both got tested and have nothing. i'm just scared one day i'm gonna wake up and have herpes. my father played w/ me when i was a little girl and ever since then i think the worst of the worst all the time. my question is could u have sex w/ someone who has herpes and then get it like 4 or 5 years later? or does it usually occur within a period of becoming invected? i don't even have any symptoms of it, theres no pimples or anything i'm just a hypocondriact

If you had contracted genital herpes years ago, it would've been reflected on the testing you had done.  Do you know if you had a type specific herpes igg blood test performed?

Have you talked to a professional counselor about all of this?

no lol my question is if u had sex w/ someone who had herpes wouldnt u get the diesese realatively close to the time after u first had sex w/ the person? i'm a hypocondriact. so even if i got tested i still think like 5 years down the line its just gonna pop up out of nowhere lol.

herpes will not just pop up out of nowhere. If you've been tested for herpes properly and so has your current bf then you know that neither of you have it so it's something you can cross off your list of worries.
