I have taken 2 HSV igg tests in the last five months. The first test was an IGG test just for hsv-2 which came back negative. this was a few weeks after a sexual
encounter. i took another test a few weeks ago, this time for hsv antibodies, hsv-1 and hsv-2. this was also an igg test. the results came back as equivocal for hsv antibodies, negative for hsv-1 and 2. my doctor said he is pretty close to 100% sure it is not herpes and the equivocal result is probably a factor of something else in my body and that i should just look at the negative results.
What you've posted for your 2nd test results makes little sense. Can you get a copy of the 2nd test results and post their numeric value here? ie hsv1 igg 3.4 and hsv2 igg .23 or whatever they are.

HSV Ab IgG 1.1---doctor said this was most likely nothing.
HSV-1 Ab IgG 0.10
HSV-2 Ab IgG 0.11
HSV-1 Ab IgM negative
HSV-2 Ab IgM negative
he said i should trust the 2 type specific results. these results are 5 months after any contact. i also had a test a month after contact that had pretty much the same results.
