shared douche??!!

me and my roomemate accidentally shared the same douche. i have herpes and she doesnt. i used it, refilled it with water and 5 days later she used the same one. she thought it was new. what are the chances of her contracting herpes from this object. would the virus already be dead? HELP!! im scared for her..

ps. i know im not supposed to be douching. it was my first time.

The virus only lives a very short time outside the body, so janicka is correct.

However, as to douching, that is not necessarily a good thing either. According to womenshealth.gov, "Doctors and the ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) suggest women avoid douching completely. Most experts believe that douching increases a woman's chances of infection. The only time a woman should douche is when her doctor recommends it."
