should i get a blood test?

i had one single bump that i found when i was shaving because i pricked it. it was painless not itchy nothing but it was on the lower part of my lip on my gential (genital) area so i was still worried & made a appt. when i went she said i highly doubt this is herpes. herpes is pretty painful. then yesterday morning they called me and told me it tested positive for the herpes virus and to just call them if i ever get a bump again ! i found that very odd so i asked dont i need meds and she said ohh well we dont know if youll ever get this again so i said ohh what was i just like maybe a cold sore and she said it was herpes virus 2 i still dont understand why i dont take need meds everything is very odd to me my friend thinks i should get a 2nd opinion but i had a culture and those i heard are the best tests to do for herpes i just need some advice should i get a blood test?

if you  had a + lesion culture then indeed you do have herpes.
