You need a blood test. 80% of the population have HSV1, and many people don't have symptoms. Even if you test positive, you might be one of the lucky ones that never shows symptoms.

Well i kissed a girl who may have oral herpes she didnt have a visible sore when i kissed her but its still the possibility of asymptomatic shedding that scares me , and if i was infected would i have had the primary outbreak? I went to get tested for stds but they tell me they cant test me with no visible sores

Hi, 3 to 13 days or so IF you have been infected. Many people do not show symptoms or even have outbreaks. The only way without having  swab of a sore is a blood test but that wont well you where if you have it. What was your exposure?
