spreading cold sore to childs genital area

Hi grace, just a question on transmission of hsv1. I have a cold sore and 2 nights ago my daughter had an itchy bottom right on her bottom hole, and asked me to look at it. So I had a look and in the process I touched her butt cheeks and and maybe a little closer to her vagina aswell. I also scratched het bottom hole for her using a couple of baby wipes so there would have been rubbing at that point. I'm now concerned that I may have touched my lips or something before touching her bottom. I hadn't touched my cold sore directly but I may have touched surrounding areas without thinking. Can I pass it on this way. Thanks.

Thanks for your responses. I am having a lot anxiety over this and can't stop thinking about it. Ii just seems to calm me down if I talk to someone about it like writing on this forum. I just can't shake this fear I have about it.

cough is not a symptom of herpes but  a cough with fever is a symptom of a oncoming cold.

My daughter has now developed a cough and a bit of a temp. Could this be related or hopefully just coincidence.

Hi, Grace retired.
Bottom line you would need a direct contact to be at risk for spreading, like mouth to mouth or genital to genital. Also to lesson the chance is that hsv1 prefers the oral ganglia and not the genital one., also the wipes most likely have some type of antibacterial as this would lessen even more.
From what you describe there was no risk for transmitting
