He had ultrasound before and came out with a tiny Epdid cyst and Hydrocle on left testicle.

It doesnt' sound like herpes at all. Those are very small vesicles or blister like but smaller. The cysts are round and much larger and have a bouncy feel. The doctor can tell by the feel of a cyst but ultrasound is sometimes used to rule out cancer such as in testicular cysts or fibrocytic breast tissue. I would not worry about herpes by your description. Cysts can drain and they fill with fluid and enlarge.. Sometimes they have to be drained manually by needle or surgery if they become painful by pressing on an area that is near a nerve or sensitive spot.

No herpes doesn't look like a cyst. Because of the pus it sounds more like a bacterial infection. Scratching and squeezing these things is never a good ldea. Did the doctor take a culture? Did you say the doctor thought it was folliculitis? It sounds like the antibiotic they gave him is working if it is going away. The cyst may be a spermatoceal (cyst in the scrotum) that are harmless but they can get bigger.  If it was a cyst usually they don't go away unless a doctor removes the fluid, but since it was  popped (that must have hurt a lot) it may have drained and may not come back.

A friend of mind getting a red bump in genital areaevery 2-3 months with lymph nodes and legs pain.
His  doctor told him  its a for the recurrence many times (Foli. hair) and the last time he had it  was told (cyst)   the bump was on scrutom.
she give him antibiotic for 10 days and he used nosporn on it for a few day.
the bump after he tried to squiz it (white puss  then clear with blood).
The bump almost disappear after 19 days.
Could herpes look like a cyst?

I think he probably scratched the area and got staph from his finger nails into the skin and got staph. Don't know if the staph came first or the herpes but I don't see why both cannot occur. I once had a staph /strep and fungal infection one place. The doctor looked at it and gave me both an antibiotic and an antifungal. He explained he could tell by the look and the texture. One was "sitting" on top of the other.

p.s. glad your sores are healing. If they didn't do a culture and the doctor just looked at it the staph sores are pretty typical as well. Other staph's besides Staph aureus don't generally cause skin sores...So I think it is good you used the antibiotic in this case

Regarding the Staph infection. the laboratory would be able to determine if it was a contaminant or not by the number of colonies, whether it was a mixed culture and so forth. If they reported it as Staph aureus and told you you had a co-infefction it probably wasn't a contaminant as was mentioned above. I am a clinical microbiologist and can only go by your description you were diagnosed with Staph. It is pretty standardized in the lab as to when to call something a contaminant or not. They do not report other staphylococci, if isn't important they would say "normal skin flora" plus Herpes. My 2 cents stand!!

they are getting better. the sores are starting to dry out and close up. has anyone ever heard of an otc treatment called fast relief by merix pharmaceuticals?

odds are the staph was a contaminate actually and never needed any treatment.

are your symptoms better yet?

also what were you given to treat the staph infection?

did you have the staph infection first and then get a herpes recurrence or did you have a recurrence of herpes and they swabbed it and found staph?

if your insurance doesn't make valtrex affordable, switch to acyclovir. with a prescription from your doctor, you can get a round of acyclovir at walmart for $4 to treat each ob. you can get suppressive therapy for under $20/month with a prescription. why pay more for something that only gives you the convenience of taking it less often??  I know I'll set my timer on my phone to remind me to take a pill 3x/day instead of 2 to save a lot of money :)

Yes, I meant take oral drugs not that you have oral herpes. Yes it is best since you have a co-infeciton to take the oral medication rather than cream and put the antibiotic on.
take care,

i have the generic valtrex but try not to take it if i can help it because it is so expensive. it is a recurring infection. i only have a genital outbreak, not an oral one. i guess i should just take the valtrex.

did the provider who diagnosed you not recommend treatment for the staph infection?

nothing about treating a bacterial infection will make your herpes worse. are you also treating your herpes? if so, what medication, what dose and for how  many days?

is this a newly diagnosed herpes infection or a recurrence of a previous infection?

Use neosporin ointment or a triple antibiotic ointment and put it on the staph spots. Don't run and wash your hands right after and anything that came in contact with the staph. Do you have a oral herpes med? If you have some take that at the same time.
