symptoms of genitla herpes

about a month ago i got really drunk and recieved unprotected oral sex from a prostitute.a couple of days later i had a pain in my lfet testicle.the pain hasn't gone away and now im having pain in my lower back, buttocks, and thighs.im waiting the results for the gonorrhea/chlamidya tests to come back, but does this sound like herpes? The pain could be anything in all honesty.  I would advise being checked by your doctor.  Unprotected Oral sex is a low risk for HSV.

i know its hard to put a number on it but, how low would you say the risk is? I know i have sum type of infection.My scrotum and penis are red and in pain and also burn.i have tiny white spots on my penis,i just have a feeling its herpes.the contact was about a month and week ago.The symptoms have only gotten worse, but i cant go to the clinic until next week, you think you can help me out a little bit?

White spots on the penis could be anything even a normal deal.  I can't give you an exact number but I think Dr. Hook/Dr. Hansfield in our STD Experts put it at 1 in 10,000.  What you could have is anything.  You need to see a doctor to show them while you have symptoms.  Call the clinic and explain that since this is time sensitive that you need an emergency appointment.  If they can't see you contact your local health department and request help with an STD clinic that is in your area and check them out.  Being you are in Austin Tx you should have a planned parenthood there and I know that the Travis County area has a good Health Department that will get you in the right area.

ok i went to the clinic and the dr said it didnt look like heres but couldn't explain what the pain could be.he said there was no swelling,i don't have any discharge.just really bad pain in my testicles and penis.also my scrotum is slightly itchy.my question now is if the gonorrhea/chlamidya test came back negative and if it doesn't "appear" to be herpes what other type of infection could i get from oral sex that would cause pain in both the testicles and penis? im goin to get some lab work done to test for herpes to make sure, i just have a feeling it is herpes.it's been about 6 weeks since the oral sex and the pain is still there.thanks for your help, i really apreciate it.

herpes will not cause just pain like this.  

Continue to follow up on this with your provider as needed.

stress and anxiety cause far more issues than a herpes infection does :)

relax, consider treating yourself to a nice theraputic massage to loosen all your tight muscles - might help you far more than you suspect!

honestly they aren't from the sounds of things.  sounds more like either something normal or even a fungal infection going on.  

your risk was hsv1 from oral sex. if you've never been tested before to know your status, absolutely no way to know if a hsv1+ result on your blood test is oral or genital.  

Obviously you need the peace of mind that a 2nd opinion hopefully will provide. follow up on this with a different provider for better answers. A dermatologist if you can be seen by one this week would be your best bet.

thanks.i just dont know what's causing the pain and itching. i am goin to go get checked by another dr after i get my results, also the twitching in my left leg and foot are also keeping me worried.i know the white bumps are normal, but what makes me think that it's herpes, is that they spread all over the shaft of my penis, i never had this many before.i know i have sum type of infection.it has to be, otherwise why would i have pain in my testicle and penis, right? also where the bumps are, i feel a stinging itch.i caught poison ivy the same day this incodent took place, it started on my legs and scrotom the next day.too soon for any std, but the pain came a couple of days later, and the bumps have spread too.now the poison ivy is gone, but the symptoms are still pretty bad.

i've seen a mixture of anserws regarding if the leg pain is a symptom of herpes.some say it is, and some say it isn't.what is your response to this? i just find it wierd that these pains would just pop up after a possible exposure to herpes.im goin to get checked again, but i have to wait for my results to come back, and i also know that it could take another month to show a positive on the test.thanks

not sure how often I have to say this probably isn't due to herpes.  many things cause leg pain and testicular pain.  odds are herpes isn't the cause of yours. don't get hung up on the fact that you got oral sex from a hooker a few months ago.

hey i got my test results back. both HSV 1 & 2 were at <0.90. she told me that im right under testing positive.this was after six weeks of the exposure.im goin to wait about 4 weeks to get tested again.what do you think the chances of me testing positve in a month?

honestly there is no need for any more herpes testing.  

herpes will not cause non-stop pain for this long. you've never had lesions. if you were hsv1 negative and contracted hsv1 from oral sex, you would've most likely had symptoms that were very obvious and very "classic" within a few days after having received oral sex.

Get herpes off your brain - whatever is going on, it's being caused by something else.

If I may it is your choice to continue to test.  But if I can I will share a personal experince.

I had the same fear you had.  You can read my journal to see the post about my story.  Long story short I did my testing at 2, 9, and 12 weeks.  Grace's batting record is pretty damn good if you ask me.  I think you have nothing to fear here.  If you are going to test again do it after 12 weeks it will put you at more ease.  

Not EVERYTHING that goes on down there is herpes.  I have more bumps on my bottom and they have stayed quite often enough for me to know its not Herpes.

Should I go back to the clinic and get tested for an NGU? If i have an infection I it won't get better until I treat it, is that right? ya but they only tested me for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV.I got the IGG blood test at 6 weeks at a different lab because the clinic didn't do herpes testing there, and to be safe Im going to get tested again next month.Im going to try the jock itch cream, hopefully that'll help.Should the anitbodies be lower than <0.90 to be considered normal? Im just stressed because Im right under testing positive and I know it could take up to four months to show up.I just got over poison ivy a couple of weeks ago also, and a mixture of that and thinking I might have herpes is causing me to feel like my whole body is itching.My face, eyes, neck, arms and genitals..it sucks.The worse two months of my life

typically the urine testing they do for std's, also tells them if there is any bacteria present of the non-std kind. also your symptoms do not sound at all like ngu.

this doesn't sound at all like herpes and honestly no reason to repeat your testing.  

would you worry this much if you had gotten oral sex from a gal you had had 3 or 4 dates with first?

ok i went to the dermatologist today and he said he could see a couple of the spots where the rash was:on my scalp, in my ears, and on my eye brows. he told me it wasn't a fungal infection, but that it could be caused by somthing internal.they took a blood test for hepatitis c and a thyroid conditionn, so im awaiting the results.he didnt see a rash on my genitals although they have been itching over two months.i want to get another iig test at the end of august, that would be 90 days from the exposure.do you think it would be long enough or should i wait the full 4 months to be safe?He couldnt explain the testicle pain eitehr. Also what are the chances of hepatits being transmitted through oral sex? im really worried since he told me that.Thank you for help
