symptoms

Hi

I had a protected sexual encounter with a risky woman more than five weeks ago.  Two days after the event I got a headache which I thought was related to another illness.  As the day progressed I felt feverish and fatigued.  It felt like flu-like symptoms and it was hard for me to concentrate on work.  The same day, I also noticed the onset of a tingling sensation in my penis.  It felt like it was on the tip but it was difficult to tell the exact location of the tingling.  At this point I was feeling sick and very concerned with the possibility of herpes.  After two days, these symptoms faded.  They lingered for a while but weren't as bad.  I was checking my penis for bumps everyday.  I noticed a couple changes after the illness.  The top of my penis head had become more red than usual and I noticed a tiny pin head size bump on my shaft.  Nothing was painful or itchy.  It has now been five weeks and nothing has changed.  The little bump on the side of my shaft is still there.  The redness on my penis occassionally looks like it has tiny bumps on it but they aren't raised and are hardly noticable.  However, none of these things have changed for five weeks.  I also noticed what appeared to be jock itch or ring worm on my groin and an athletes foot infection during this time which I treated.  Could it be fungal?  Any help would be appreciated.

When a person gets the first outbreak of herpes they can get flu-like symptoms. It effects some more than others. Some people can get alot of bumps or not that many. Herpes can make your skin down there red and irritated. You need to get checked out by the doctor. I know a few people that have herpes. Their first outbreak they had flu-like symptoms. Good luck.

Herpes lesions wouldn't hang around unchanged this long. Odds are that even if you do have genital herpes, currently something else is causing your symptoms.  You need to go and be seen and get properly evaluated. If you have ringworm, you need to properly treat that too because it's very contagious.
