tested positive for herpes IgG and ImG

I recently tested positive for both in title question. I had four herpes blood tests. I was informed if I had experienced an outbreak in the past 1-4 months this was a new infection and given to me by partner.
I am confused because if I had herpes from yrs. past could I have passed to him instead of vice versa. I was told no because this was a new infection, I had an outbreak in July which started approx. 3 days after returning home. And upon the blood test which measures current was presently in my blood stream.
I am in my mid 40's and I do not recall or did not know I had or was having an outbreak. Prior I was married for 18 years, dated 3. When I was a child I was horrifically sexually abused. This is the first time I have had sex outside of marriage, except through child abuse. I am probably repeating myself, but I do not understand why Doctors say received current outbreak from partner when I tested positive for herpes from yrs. past.

it's really helpful if you just keep adding to your original post instead of making a new one each time. At this point, just add to this post. thanks!

the herpes igm is a greatly flawed test. you can't ascertain that it's a newly acquired infection because it's positive.

has your current partner been tested to know their status?

I apologize for making a new post. I did not realize. I am confused as where to go for proper post.

My partner has not been tested. His plan is to be tested this coming week. He had a death in his family.
