testing

I had an herpes test done last month and it came back positive for both hsv1 4.2 and hsv 2  1.25 since I have never had an outbreak I decided to retest, I researched online and found some info on retesting with Biokit, I found a lab that performs the test and it came back negative. My husband also got testing and he also came back negative. I wondering however if I should retest with the Western Blot
or is the Biokit accurate?

Thank you for your help

You had a very low positive that was most likely a false positive. Your hubby tested negative for hsv2 too. I wouldn't bother with any more testing at this point.

Where did you have the initial testing done if you don't mind my asking? I mean, was it throught LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics? I am currently going through a retesting ordeal and you have given me an optimistic outlook. I however do not know the numbers of my first test that came back positive for both forms.

I tested first at qwest and results were 1.13. retested at labcorp and came back higher at 2.07.  I REFUSED to accept this so I retested with Western Blot. Results were NEGATIVE.  Read the forums on Wersten Blot and go get it.  Put your mind at ease.
