treatment for herpes with 5% immiquimod?

Hi, Ive had genital herpes for 2 1/2 years now.  I was having Obs 1-2x monthly (even on 500mg valtrex daily) I applied 5% immuquimod to my genitals ( perscribed for VINIII not herpes) for 24 weeks last NOV-MARCH during this time I had zero Obs ( unless I had sex- I always get an OB 3 days after sex) Since stooping this my Obs have gradually come back to twice monthly ( living hell! and about to cause my relationship break up) .  My Doc is unable to perscrive immiquimod for herpes but Im sure this is what stopped my OBs.  Anyone tried this?

At one point there had been research into aldara for herpes because it did seem to help some folks who used it. when they did a bigger study though, they saw that there really wasn't a statistical difference in rate of recurrences in folks who used it and folks who didn't so research into it was stopped.

if you were having 1-2 ob's a month, you needed the higher valtrex dose of 1 gram/day. did you ever try the higher dose?

also following up on this with a dermatologist is a good idea to make sure that you don't have something other than just hsv2 going on too.  aldara has shown some use in other skin issues also so it's worth looking into.
