Encourage your friend to read the free herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com and watch the patient counseling video on the same site. Both are very informative and helpful.

You can check out www.ashastd.org under the herpes section in the support area to see if they list support groups in canada. Otherwise you'll need to google to see what is around your area, if anything.  I know there used to be a decent support group in toronto but I"m not sure of anywhere else in canada.

encourage your friend to post here with her questions or on the message boards at ashastd.org. I can much better help her if she's asking the questions she has personally :)

also kudos to you for being by her side to support her while she is stressed about her herpes :)  It's an incredibly common viral infection that no one ever takes the time to educate us about.
