Well unfortunately overall they are quantity over quality :( Once you've answered a few posts on any of the std related forums here on medhelp, you start accumulating stars next to your name. the best answer feature is supposed to help weight the quality of your answers to put you higher up on the star system. There are folks who only stop in to answer posts every few days/weeks who always give terrific advice and there are folks who answer 20 posts a day and don't always give very accurate information :( Please do not assume that just because someone has stars next to their name that that means you should assume they know what they are talking about.
So how do you know if what someone is telling you is good advice or not? Well you can try clicking on their name and reading their other posts to people. If in general no one is correcting their answers and their replies seem helpful, odds are you are getting a decent enough answer. If you aren't sure about the reply you were given by someone, check back the next day and see if you got more answers to your questions. if no one else answered but you still have doubts, just type "bump" or "anyone else have any thoughts" in your post to get it back to the top to be noticed again.
As always, I absolutely can not guarantee anyone's interpretation of herpes test results other than my own. It really isn't as easy as it looks sometimes I assure you especially with more commercially available tests out there currently!
