what is true

Why do they say that some people think they have a bug bit if they have a herpes out break? Doesn’t herpes have a distinct outbreak? Don’t they hurt?

Also I was curious..

lets say some one is infected with HIV and they get herpes shortly after getting HIV, I know some one can get herpes from another person, but can HIV cause herpes with out contracting it from the other person who transmitted the HIV? or can you only get Herpes from another person who is infected with it.

Weird but I read that HIV can cause herpes, and i was wondering if that is true... if so when would that take place; early in infection or later down the road.

Thanks

There's no reason for further testing from what you've posted.

Good afternoon...

I just wanted to ask I was tested at 10 weeks post exposure and my results were neg.

I just got tested again at 13 weeks.. still waiting on the results

If I am neg at 10 weeks what are the chances that my results will change.

i have read that it can take up to 6 months to turn positive

If I turn out neg. at 13 weeks can I trust that as a conclusive or do I have to return for more test?

Thank you!!

it's not literal shedding like a snake sheds its skin or anything like that.

The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com goes into what shedding of the virus is in more detail for more reading.  Basically when we talk about shedding with herpes, it's when the virus is on the surface of the skin and able to be detected.

when someone is "shedding" does this mean the skin is dry and pealing or is that just a term used for the time someone aquired herpes till they have an outbreak

It's different for everyone. Some folks just get itching and redness, others get painful blisters and/or ulcerations.

And in response to your pm - that doesn't sound like herpes on your breast. Herpes on the breast tends to be pretty painful.

If some one does have an outbreak do they always turn into ulcer like craters or could they appear differently, and do they always hurt.. during the first out break

Hiv and hsv are 2 completely different viruses. One doesn't cause the other.

As for your bug bite question - most folks have no idea how herpes would appear in the genital area. They assume that unless it's  a very painful and obvious blister that it's not herpes so they figure it must be something else like a bug bite , ingrown hair, shaving rash etc.

If you are infected with herpes, a type specific herpes igg blood test will reflect that as long as a few months has passed between the time of the infection and the blood test. You don't need obvious symptoms present to test accurately on the blood test.

Also if you don't have an out break what are the chances of testing positive if you have it?
