what's on my lip?

I have a bump on my lip. Its like a pimple/zit without the head.  Its been there for about  a year. I recently went to the dr about this. He said it was herpes. Its a single bump on my lip. He prescribed me zoviar. Can herpes stay on the lip that long? And only cause one bump?

if you read our read before posting post on this forum you'll see that we don't look at pictures and why not.  You can not send pictures to folks either here on medhelp.  I also know petal will not give out her personal email to folks!

oral herpes will not cause non-stop symptoms for a year. have your symptoms been non-stop or just coming and going for a year?

Definitely see a different provider. You can contact your insurance and see if they can find a provider in your area that accepts your insurance. If there are none, petition your insurance for a consult with one that doesn't accept your insurance with your insurance to pay for the consult.  Your other option is to pay out of pocket for a dermatologist consult.

Wow - your doctor is clueless. Herpes definitely does not hang around for a year!

See a dermatologist or another doctor - this isn't herpes.
