worried about ex-girlfriend

I'm concerned I may've contracted herpes from an ex-girlfriend.

We had unprotected vaginal and oral sex on Friday night (Saturday morning).  The only reason we went unprotected is because she had promised me she hadn't slept with anyone since we broke up, although later admitted that she had lied.  It is currently Tuesday.  Yesterday, I noticed red bumps around the base of my penis.  They have not yet gone away.  There is mild pain when I press on them, and occasionally mild itching.  

The only thing that leaves me skeptical is, each of the bumps is located under a hair.  In fact, nearly every hair on the shaft of my penis has a bump underneath, and there do not seem to be any bumps not located under hairs.  This makes me wonder, is it possible they are ingrown / infected hairs?  I remember once reading that after extremely vigorous sex (which this was), that it's possible for this sort of irritation to occur.  

I realize there's no way to be sure aside from going to a clinic, but I'd just like to know peoples' opinions, as if it's likely herpes I'll go to a clinic asap in order to try the early-treatment with famciclovir which I read about on wikipedia..
