Accidentally took one High BP tablet, is it ok to stop taking anymore

I am a 32-yr-old Indian guy. For last 2-3 days I have been suffering from High Blood Pressure. When I approached our company doctor, he prescribed me a 3-day course of Amlong 2.5mg tablet and asked me to come back afterwards for a review. I took one tablet today morning as part of the dosage. But later on when I discussed it with my family doctor, he told me strictly to stop taking the BP tablets immediately - because BP tablets are meant to be a life-long medication, whereas my high BP only started recently and will most likely come down by itself.

My worry is that I have already had one BP tablet - if I listened to my family doctor and stopped it immediately, will there be any severe consequences that I will have to bear?

I also believe the doc is wrong about taking them for life. Yes in most cases yes, but if a person loses weight, stops smoking, eats better, exercise, etc they can wean themselves off the drugs and not need for rest of life. Many people do nature alternatives and then slowly stop the drugs. It can be done. But only if the person keeps checking the bl pr to see that it actually comes down then they can wean off more.

I really do not think one pill would matter. It's like if you were taking the bl pr pill for a few months and then wanted to stop suddenly -- you can't, you have to wean yourself off them slowly taking half for a few wks and then a quarter for a few more wks. I would definately not worry about one pill.
