I've recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure by a gp. He has referred me to a cardiologist whom I visit tomorrow for first time. What should I expect? Test, consultation, etc..?

The cardiologist will most likely order an echo to check the structure of your heart to make sure it has not been damaged by high BP. He will also most likely also order a stress test to see how well your heart is working. These are pretty normal and not much to worry about.
