Are these tests necessary?

My doctor's office is requiring me to do liver and kidney lab work before it will renew my prescription for blood pressure medication. Is this normal? I have no symptoms of liver or kidney problems.

This is normal depending on the type of medication you are on.   The liver and kidneys help filter and can get damaged from medications.   What medication are you on?   You may consider switching to something less harmful or look at natural remedies for high blood pressure like COQ10

Very much normal. Standard practice. They wanna know if they are functioning correctly. I'm 28 and have had high blood pressure since I was 17. The same tests every 6 months are also done on me before they refill my medicine.
