High BP- 23 Years Old Male

Hi, Recently I flew in a plane for the first time and I experienced terrible turbulence which scared me real bad and the next day when doctor checked my BP it was 180/something   she said it could be due to fact that I was still reeling the effects of my first flight trip. When checked my BP after half an hour or so it's around 140/90 and a couple of days after this episode my BP is still around 139/90. I am 6'3 tall and weight 124 Kgs. Do I have to be worried about this? Do I suffer from Hypertension?

PS: Both my parents suffer from High BP.

Sounds like it's a lot of anxiety involved. You should measure your blood pressure when you are feeling relaxed, or ask your doctor for a 24 hour monitoring, to find your "real" blood pressure.

139/90 is somewhat higher than desired, but it's not really "hypertension". But you should keep an eye on your blood pressure.

Also, losing some weight would likely reduce your blood pressure
