High BP still though came down..still issues

Hi Guys,

I am 33. I do have High BP. 2 years back when I had BP of 170/100. Doctor asked me to have Losartan Potasium Tablets. But after 1 year though the BP came down as low as 130/90, then some times it used to be 150/90. Then I visited to a Doctor who asked me to have Olmisartan Mdeoxomil 20 MG every day. I am having. Now my BP came down 10 125-135/80-90 but still it increases to 140 at times. Is this a right prescription of the Doctor of having Olmisartan Medoxomil?

I'm curious as to if some blood pressure meds actually raise your diastolic....because mine use to always be normal, and I just had a pretty high systolic (140-170) but now I get  120-140 and a diastolic in the 90's. I have LVH but said to be mild I'm also an active 22 year old male

I'm currently on 3 different blood pressure med to try and get my bottom pressure down it tends to go above 100 but sometimes I have a normal top number. There are tons of blood pressure meds out there. Some days I find my pressure is 140/90 and other days 100/60. Do you have a high heart rate?

That's awesome, does you Bp meds lower the heart rate? Cause mines low when resting gets into low 50's even dipped to 40's before. My Bp right now is 140-170 / 80-90 consistently and I still jog to try an keep it down no luck tho. Think I'll be ok until my next doc visit in a month? Those consistent readings makes me think I don't have long to live if it stays that high all the time. He gave me a beta blocker but I can't take it cause my low HR

I have never come accross this Leaky valve term..

The Doctor I visited is a Cardiologist, he did a echo test for me too as my ECG was not correct. Then he asked me to have Olmesartan Medoxomil to get my BP down today my reading since a week is 110/70.

Hope this helps you...:)

Is your doctor a cardiologist or family physician? If family physician try seeking towards a cardiologist they would know how to treat a young man like urself although I'm against meds I'm taking them and don't seem to help

Yeah after walking up a small flight of steps I checked my Bp it was 162/88 I'm sure I can't live very long with these numbers I'm only 22, Bp is suppose to get worse with age. No known cause my body seems to feel like its in overdrive (feeling pulses in various spots on my body and a pounding heart)...my heart echo last year showed a mild leaky valve but all else was fine. I've tried alodapine once and gave me chest pain and bad anxiety. I'm not sure what to do now

Do not worry as ur systolic is only high ie.170. I guess ur doctor would prescribe medication for the systolic BP. And u will be alright...getting a stroke at 22.....Forget it..Never..

And hey there are a set of other medicines like Amlodipine Bisylate, Olmesartan Medoxomil tablets which are to be taken from a doctor's prescription or Advice. So these are also BP tablets which are effective compared to Losartan. I would suggest you to go for a Doctor's advice though.

I am currently taking losartan 100mg/hctz, I went to the doc today and my Bp was 170/80 very high systolic not sure why? I was somewhat anxious but I'm on meds just 22 years old so I understand your situation. I am heading tomorrow for another heart echo (had one in feb but by a different doc) hoping for good results. I also hope you find what your needing. Sorry I know I didn't help, just letting you know your not alone. Seeing my Bp 170/80 all I can think of is stroke or heartattack but hopefully that's not the case
