Left Hand & Shoulder pain after 6 months of By Pass Surery

Hi,

It is after 6 months Heart By Pass surgery my mom has started getting pain in her shoulder and left hand. Now she is has diabetes which fluctuates like any thing Viz. 57 in the morning and in the night it becomes 250. She is worried that what would be the reason of the pain. We have taken the advice from the same hospital and the Doctors say that she needs to walk more as an exercise. Now when she walks she gets so many belching. Please advice me what would be the reason...what could be done?
