Low blood pressure

I am 7 weeks post op total right hip replacement. In the hospital I need 2 blood transfusion. Since at home I am running very hot for hours with diaphorsis, then I will go so cold I can't use my hands or feet.  Today I went for a routine check up with my GP.  My blood pressure was at 100/80...it is never ever this low. I usually run at 135/80 -140/80. I don't feel myself, no energy, dizzy ect.  I have had blood work again , check hemoglobin, thyroid,   What's up doc??
my age is young for a hip replacement; my weight in with in normal range, lost 13 pound in recovery.

Welcome and I'm very sorry to hear of your problem! It sounds like your body is having a hard time recovering from your surgery. My brother in law had a hip replacement and he struggled as you are. If your blood work is normal, it would seem to me that your body is just weak from surgery still and is going through some stress while healing which would cause your symptoms.

You need to stay very close to your doctor and make sure you are being monitored for the next several weeks. I wish I had a better answer for you, but I think your BP is realted to the stress your body is enduring.

Good luck!

You are right on in saying "it could be my body having a hard time recovering from surgery".  That is pretty much what the surgeon said, he also ran some blood work to assure there was no allergic reaction to the implant.
With that said an allergic reaction is practically unheard of especially with the type of implant I received ( Titanium with a plastic/nylon cuff). The only downside to this diagnosis, is it has gone on too long and I really should be over it. My hip replacement is the result of an accident as opposed to age. I am middle aged but SHOULD be bouncing back faster. I have no other health problem to complicate the recovery.  This is why I am having "other  blood work" done to ensure my thyroid is at a normal level and hemoglobin etc.
Thanks again Jon
