Should I worry?

My husband had a very high blood pressure when we went to the doctor today.  He had been having mild asthma attacks all day and didn't have his inhaler (hasn't needed it for quite some time and it expired).  Usually his blood pressure is really good.  Should I be worried, or would the asthma attacks have made his BP spike?
