Feline Bladder Infection

Feline Bladder Infection

My 3 year old male cat is super sensitive and keeps getting bladder infections.  The second one he got went pretty bad and he ended up with a partial protein blockage and took a while to settle down.  The pattern seems to be when he eats something he shouldn't have and gets loose stools (he thinks he's a dog and eats everything off the floor that he can get his mouth on) or when I get stressed (we are very bonded and he stresses out when I'm stressed). The couple of mild infections he's got since the bad one, his system has been able to clear on its own but I hate him being uncomfortable.

I was wondering if there is anything I can do or give him at the beginning of the infection (or to stop them from happening at all).  I don't think cranberry supplement would work because I tried a couple drops of straight cranberry juice on his food and he hated it.

He is on roughly 60-70% wet food with 1/8 of a cup water added to make it really liquidy plus he is a fairly good water drinker.  They are on premium food (go natural dry and wellness/go natural/holistic select canned).  thanks for any help!

hi Tammy......don't know if this works or not, Pip on the cat forum recently posted about giving a small amount of apple cider Vinegar (Vets advice)...and I've read on other forums where this can be beneficial too....maybe worth a try?
Dr. Osborne do you have thoughts on this as a preventative measure???
