Can plantar warts be passed on through cream products / moisturizers and such?

I think that maybe I'll sound a little paranoid but I'll ask anyway - and I thank you all in advance for any help.
I have a friend who has a lot of plantar warts. He came over to my house and while we were chatting he kept picking his warts using both hands. Later, he asked me if he could borrow some hand cream. I gave it to him and he didn't wash his hands before picking the bottle. I decided to use some hand cream as well right after he did. I barely washed the bottle with water and soap and then used it. Right after using it I've noticed that there was still some water stuck in the bottle cap, near the opening of the bottle. I wasn't worried at first but then I remembered that I have allergies on my hands and my skin has a lot of tiny lesions because of it. Considering that specialists always say that warts are highly contagious and can infect other parts of the body - such as the hands - and plantar warts spread through water, is there a chance that I was infected in this ocasion?

Sorry for such a long post and thank you again.
