I was diagnised with HPV (High risk) in Nov 08 from abmormal papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer smear. I had not had a papPap smear Pap smears and cervical cancer smear since April of 2006 which was normalNormal saline flush. In November I got a biopsy that stated mild dysplasia and was told to wait 4 months. I am 26 and have been with my husband for 6 years, we have both had no other partners for 6 years. I assume I have has the virus for 6 years and am very confused about my chances of having my body fight off the virus, because I have had it for so long and my body still hasn't rid of it yet. I am very confused if the virus was latent for 5 years and now caused abnormalities, and now my body still has the chance to fight the virus and I may never have a reoccurence or if because I have had this for 6 years and my body did not fight it off it will never fight it off and unfortunatlly I have a persistant HPV infection that my body will never rid of. My doctor said that because I have had it for so long and it just now caused changes that is a good sign, but she is very optimistic and tends to play down my serious concerns. Also, if the cells do go away on their own what are the chances abnormalities will reappear assuming I am not reinfected with another strainStrains . Also could my husband re-infect me with the same virus or prevent my body from healing it. I am have had 2 children and was not sure if pregnancy could have caused dysplasia, I was also under alot of stress due to my husbands job insecurity last Fall, also I have been giving my 2 year old son PulmicortPulmicort flexhaler Pulmicort respules Pulmicort turbuhaler and inhale some while giving it to him and wasn't sure if this could supress my immune system. Basically I read that the virus should clearClear by design Clear eyes Clear eyes acr Clear eyes clr Clear-atadine Clear-atadine children's on its own within 2 years and was wondering if mine hasn't will it ever, or are chances much more slim that it will, even if mild dysplasia goes away will my body not test negative for Hpv b/c I have had it for so long and what are the chances dysplasia will come back. Update.. I got my first pap results (since my ascus and mild dysplasia on the biospy in Nov 08) beck and they were normal. Iam very glad but what are my chances of dysplasia coming back, I cannot find any statistics, and if it comes back do I have reoccuring HPV, which makes you at a higher risk for cancer. Also has my body cleared itself of HPV, or just the dysplasia and would I still test positive for HPV. Ifyou test negativefor HPV,could you test positive for it later (assumingyou have not been exposed to a different strain.) My doctor didnot reccomed when to follow up for the next smear, are the guideline every 3 months untill 3 normal in a row then every 6months for 2 years? Should I get testedfor HPV with my next one too? Thank You for your time.
