Clarification

I have read every expert post I can find regarding oral hpv. The problem is almost all of the posts are 2-4 years old. I understand that oral hpv knowledge is constantly changing. Does anyone know if tobacco and alcohol are still thought to be cofactors in oral hpv cancer? Do most people with oral hpv have a weakened immune system? Thankyou

Based on what I read, alcohol and tobacco can assist in getting diagnosed with oral HPV, along with oral sex. And if you believe the CDC, deep kissing.

There is very little that doctors know about it. That there is no FDA approved test for oral HPV is outrageous. Who isn't having oral sex or deep kissing partners?  Oral cancer isn't as deadly as genital or anal cancers, but the recovery requires lots of throat and mouth surgery.

I didnt do much research on such question, but i do know ppl generally say that smokers  risk of getting nasopharyngeal cancer or etc cancer in the neck/oral/lung can be increased with smoking...hpv is another risk factor that also promote such cancers
