Actually the vaccine Gardisil WAS approved on October 2oth, 2009 for males ages 9 to 256 yrs old! The FDA is ALSO looking into it being approved for women up until 45 or 46 due to the increasing number of women re entering the single life who due to being newly divorced wouldn't have been exposed to the infection
I could be wrong, but I dont think the vaccine is yet approved for males.... But roses is right, all girls should be vaccinated for it. Save a lot of future problems. 80% of all sexually active people will at some point in their live have HPV.
EVERYONE(MALE/FEMALE) SHOULD BE VACCINATED FOR HPV if they fall in the age range!! Hpv can be spread thru skin to skin contact whether hetero or homosexual sex. Penetration isn't necessary for low or high risk strains to be spread. ps...the infection can also be spread from sharing sex toys. The vaccination protects against the two most common strains of low risk ( 6 and 11 causes warts) and high risk (16 and 18 which can cause abnormal cell changes and lead to cancer...although the body usually suppresses the infection in 6 months to 2 yrs)
