Does HPV Really Clear On It's Own?

by bjune0266, Jun 01, 2009 07:53PM
Or is it just an urban myth? Also does everyone have HPV? Is it impossible to avoid getting it?? How long does it take for a healthy person to clear HPV??

It is known that most HPV cases will clear with in 2 years and 2 years being the most amount of time.

Your immune system does have an effect on clearing the infection I cleared mine in 7 months and I'm very healthy vitamins, exercise and healthy eatting.

You can avoid getting it by not having sex but if you're having sex then you can't really avoid it of course they do have the vaccine shots which is only for women.

I cleared mine four years after contracting a high risk strain. The immune system has everything to do with clearing the virus.

Is it safe to say that if you're healthy with an average immune system you will almost definitely clear the virus? In other words does HPV linger only in people with bad immune systems (AIDS, diabetes, high stress) or unhealthy lifestyles (excessive drinking, smoking, drug use)??

I was diagnosed at 18, had a cryo at 20.. it stuck around until this last pap 2 months ago (im 24 now)  Looks as if it cleared :D I will definitely keep up on my 6 month paps tho.

It is more common for lower immune systems to clear the virus with a longer time frame but you can't say that for 100% as nothing is 100%, If you are taking care of your body living a healthy lifestyle you are help your immune system to stay healthy and that is what it is all about, your immune system.
