Genital Warts :(

Hi. I am a girl. 20 years old. I went to the doctor to have my second check-up and I was diagnosed with HPV. I have a small reddish bump inside my vagina. I am so depressed right now because I won't ever get married because of my health condition. :( Is it really life long? Or should I have hope of it clearing on its own? Any response will do. Please help me. Your advice is really needed and will be appreciated.

Why are you so sure? Have you had this before?

This is no big deal.  Do what the Dr's. say to do.  Take care of yourself and move on.  Tell your partner(s), or don't tell your partner(s); again, this is no big deal.

Thank you for noticing my post. :) I am glad someone find time to read my situation. I am not sure about the "strains" but I have a single reddish bump. Is that dangerous?

The virus remains in your body forever but most people clear it (become not infectious) after a few months to a year. 8 out of sexually active adults have it. However, men cannot be tested for it and only know if they have it if their female partner has been diagnosed for it (so the male partner would assume they have it even if they don't have a wart) or if the male gets a genital wart and it is biopsied and diagnose for it. Or if a doctor visually diagnoses it on a man. The high risk strains do not produce any warts, so if a man has this, he has no clue.

You will get married despite this. Get the cream or have a procedure done to remove the wart. Keep healthy!  Stop smoking cigs, drink less and eat healthy. Get more rest, take vitamins, reduce stress via exercise, etc. Most people who have it do not mention it because it is assumed that every sexually active partner has it too. You can still get the vaccine for the strains of the virus that you don't already have. The low risk strains just produce warts which are not dangerous. The high risk strains are bad and need to be taken care of asap. Get tested every year or two. Do not worry. The low risk strains are cosmetic issues only. Insist on SAFE sex from now on to reduce transmitting it to your future partners. If any man says to you he is clean and has been with 4 or more women in his life, then he either ignorant of the facts or is lying to you and himself. If any man says he wants un-safe sex with you, then inform him of your past and the facts. Most men are the carriers!  Since they can't be tested for it, they are clueless. There is no "HPV health test" for men and so it is very natural for men to be the carriers. HPV is the common cold of STDs. 90% of all infected never get more warts.
