Genital warts years later

I was with my ex for 7 years, about 3 or 4 years into our relationship we were trying to get pregnant and was taking metformin.  After I stopped taking the medication I developed skin tags on my neck amd vagina.  They never went away. First gyno I went to she said oh yes these are skin tags and left it at that. I just got back from another apt to get a second opinion and she said skin tags normally don't develope where I had them and said I could have genital warts. Is it common to have warts and they never go away on their own?  Even after years?  I recently quit smoking (I vape with nicotine) but also never noticed warts on my ex and he's never seen warts on his past partners. Would genital warts show up years later in the relationship? I find out the biopsy results later this week. I am devastated.

I have had skin tags in my vaginal area. I got one biopsied and it was nothing. Get a biopsy if you want. A lot of times, doctor's won't offer it, because it's a sensitive area. But it didn't even hurt that bad. It was totally worth the piece of mind.

I had it biopsied and she said it was GW. I'm just so confused. There was nothing on my ex and why did the come up years later?  They never went away on their own and I'm at a loss. I'll never be able to be with someone again. I'm so lost and scared.
It's possible I guess that your ex didn't notice them. It is odd that they would stick around for that long. Did you get them treated?
