HPV, condoms and skin to skin infection

Hi all, please help me with my questions.
I was having sex with a prostitute. After a few minutes of having sex with her, I noticed that she had warts, so I stopped immediatly having sex with her. I was using a condom.
I'm married and I'm so scared about getting warts and infecting my wife. I've been reading about HPV infection. I usually read that even using a condom you can be infected because of skin to skin contact in those areas not covered by the condom. Can that really happen? can a healthy skin be infected by just contact without rubbing? what do you think is the probability of me having HPV?

Thanks.

Thanks for the answer. That is what I have read in the net, however I'm still confused about how can you be infected trough a healthy skin.

Additionally, how was that 50% percent caculated?

Yes, condoms provide 50% protection at best. They don't cover the base of the penis, the scrotum, thighs or the buttocks. This doesn't mean one out of two times it will be safe. It just means that condoms are an ineffective way of protecting you from getting infected or infecting others. This is why doctors say that anyone who has sex with active warts will eventually infect their partners. It is inevitable.Did this one episode infect you? Not likely but you won't ever know unless a wart appears since men cannot be tested. Your wife should get tested every year if possible. If you are afraid to suggest that then just realize that at a certain age, she will get tested anyway. Her health is important and if you want her to remain healthy, suggest that she get tested. Here is a link that explains the facts and that the only safe sex is no sex. Condoms are great for STDs that travel in fluids like HIV. They are not that great for genital skin diseases like HPV or Herpes.
